Algerian ports receive new shipments of bananas, meat, and spare parts

Since the beginning of August, Algerian ports have witnessed continuous activity in the operations of receiving and unloading shipments of bananas, red meat, and spare parts for cars and trucks, coinciding with the acceleration of the pace of import procedures.

This activity includes importers of spare parts who began bank domiciliation procedures since the end of July, as well as importers of red meat who are preparing to supply the market with new shipments, especially from Spain and Brazil, coinciding with the increase in the pace of bank domiciliation procedures and the completion by importers of their program files, after a number of them obtained the necessary visas, according to the newspaper "Echourouk".

The same source reported that the import movement continues at a regular pace through various stages, starting from bank domiciliation procedures, passing through shipping operations and the arrival of goods at ports, up to the completion of their release procedures.

The newspaper confirmed that the movement of receiving goods is ongoing between shipments arriving successively and others that are in the stage of unloading or completing customs procedures before their release.

It pointed to the entry of significant quantities of bananas starting from the month of August, after completing the necessary procedures, which will be gradually transferred to various distribution networks.

It added that port activity includes various shipments while unloading, goods inspection, and customs clearance operations continue, in parallel with the reception of new shipments, as shipments of bananas are expected to be received at the port of Arzew.

It noted that national commercial banks have recorded in recent days an increase in bank domiciliation operations, with a large number of importers coming forward to complete the financial procedures related to their import programs, after obtaining the necessary visas.

These operations fall within the framework of thousands of domiciliation procedures carried out through banks, and include various materials and products, where each file is at a specific stage of the import operation implementation.

In a related context, banking sources confirmed to "Echourouk" that a number of red meat importers have in turn begun to complete the bank domiciliation procedures for their import programs.

An official in the Meat Federation highlighted to "Echourouk" that a large number of importers are preparing, in the coming days, to supply the national market with new shipments of red meat, especially from Spain and Brazil.

He indicated that the operations are carried out through a number of operators and at different stages of implementation.
